This Unit is from “Longman Welcome to English 1A”
Students: Most of them graduated from Huamei Kindergarten.

Teaching Objectives:

Language functions and focus: At the end of the class, Ss can
(1)      Introduce their friends to the teacher and class by describing
their appearance and what they can do.
(2)      Use demonstrative pronouns to refer to people.
  This is my friend, John.
(3)      Use modals to talk about abilities.
  He can climb.
(4)      Use interrogative pronouns to find out a person’s identity.

Communicative functions:
(1)      Give a simple description of oneself and others in terms of
personal characteristics and abilities.  
(2)Provide information.
Language skills:
(1)Listening: Locate and provide specific information in response to simple questions.(task)
(2)Speaking: use simple sentences to communicate with others. (task)
Collaboration skills:
Provide, use and exchange simple information on familiar topics.
Values and Attitudes:
1. Develop confidence in using English through performing tasks on their own or in groups.
2. Appreciate the beauty of the language through enjoying singing English songs.
